A writer writing a true story is visited by two of his characters. And they want changes.

Following the death of his mother and the disappearance of an ex, a burnt-out filmmaker finds inspiration in telling their stories. But when stories have two sides and secrets must be kept, what remains of the truth?

Writer/director David Hofberg finds out in "The One Who Wasn't There", when mother and ex return to edit his screenplay in a meta black comedy about life, love and leaving.
